Silicone Mold

Step by step

How it works

Step by step, to the finished piece

  1. 1

Upload your drawing: it is the figure the mold will copy.

  2. 2

Adjust the size, the depth and the wall thickness.

  3. 3

Print the box, pour the silicone and let it cure for as long as the manufacturer states.

  4. 4

Pull the tab to demold: the flexible mold is ready to use.

What to watch out for

  • The printed piece is the form you pour into, not the final mold.
  • Pour in a thin stream from a single spot so no bubbles get trapped.

What you need

Materials and tools

  • A filament (FDM) 3D printer
  • PETG filament
  • Platinum-cure mold silicone; food-grade if you'll use the mold with food
