There is a magical moment in every home bakery: the cookie coming out of the oven with that perfect shape you designed. But what if it also carried your name, your brand logo or an engraved message? That is no longer something only big factories can do. With an Imprint Cutter you can achieve it at home, with your own 3D printer.
The KingsCutter Imprint Cutter is a custom embosser for dough and fondant. Instead of just cutting the silhouette, it stamps a raised design onto the surface of the cookie: a monogram, a logo, a phrase, a smiley face. The result is a cookie that looks professional, as if it came from a luxury bakery.
What exactly is an Imprint Cutter?
It is a 3D-printed piece with an inverted (mirrored) raised design. You press it gently onto raw dough or fondant and, when you lift it, the design is marked in positive. Think of it as a stamp, but with the precision of a digital engraving.
With KingsCutter you design it in seconds: upload your image or text, the AI detects the edges and generates the engraving ready to print. Then you can use it on royal icing cookies, butter dough, fondant, gum paste and even tempered chocolate.
Why is cookie branding on the rise?
Decorated cookies are no longer just a dessert: they are a way to communicate. More and more businesses give away cookies with their logo to clients, and weddings personalize even the sweetest detail. The trend has grown a lot on platforms like Etsy, where custom cookie stamps and embossers are among the most searched items.
- Personal brand: a bakery that gives away cookies with its logo reinforces its identity with every bite.
- Events: weddings, baby showers and birthdays use cookies with initials, dates or messages.
- Gifts: a cookie with someone's name is a detail nobody forgets.
How to create your Imprint Cutter with KingsCutter
- Upload your image or text — a logo, a signature, a monogram or a phrase. The AI turns any image into a silhouette.
- Choose Imprint Cutter — among the 16 product types, select the embosser.
- Adjust the design — depth, size and details so the engraving comes out clean.
- Download the STL — the first download is free, no credit card required.
- Print or order — with food-safe PETG on your printer, or order it from our printing partners. If you prefer the finished physical product, visit store.kingscutter.com.
Ideas for using your embosser
- Weddings: cookies with the couple's initials or the date as a keepsake.
- Bakeries and cafés: your logo on every cookie you sell.
- Christmas: messages like "Merry Christmas" or the name of each guest.
- Birthdays: the name and age of the guest of honor.
- Mother's and Father's Day: short phrases that move people.
Tips for a perfect engraving
- Cold dough: well-chilled dough marks better and does not deform when pressed.
- Even pressure: press vertically, without moving the embosser, so the design does not smudge.
- Fondant: it works amazingly on fondant and gum paste, ideal for cakes.
- Cleaning: wash it with warm water and soap; food-safe PETG is durable and safe.

Which dough gives the best embossing with an Imprint Cutter?
The impression reads sharpest on fondant and on cold cookie dough straight from the fridge: on warm or sticky dough the relief clings, drags the design and the lines close up. Always work with cold dough, dust with only as much flour as you need, and press once without sliding the piece.
2 decisions define the finish after stamping. The first is pressure: firm and even, spreading the weight with the palm of your hand rather than your fingers. The second is resting: a few minutes of chilling before baking sets the relief and stops oven heat from flattening it.
Data and measurements
| Item | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Food-grade PETG, safe for food contact (not PLA) | Product specification at kingscutter.com |
| Available sizes | 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 20 cm | kingscutter.com catalogue |
| Handle (puxador) | Included with the physical piece; not a separate accessory | Product information at kingscutter.com |
| Washing | Hand wash recommended; a dishwasher degrades PETG | Care guidance at kingscutter.com |
| Working surfaces | Fondant, cookie dough, polymer clay, foam and salt dough | Usage notes at kingscutter.com |
| Relief depth | Kept under 1 mm so it marks without cutting through the dough | Our own measurement in the workshop |
| Text legibility | Very small letters read better at large sizes, where there is more surface available | Our own measurement in the workshop |
Based on our own measurement in the workshop, relief depth is best kept under 1 mm: at that depth the design stays legible in raw dough, is still visible after baking, and the piece never cuts through the inside of the cookie.
En la práctica
Based on our own measurement in the workshop, the same logo embossed at 7 cm and at 20 cm does not perform the same: at the large size, text and fine strokes keep enough spacing between lines, while at the small size it pays to simplify the artwork. That is the typical difference between a monogram and a logo that carries a tagline and an address.
From logo to STL to cookie
The process requires no 3D design knowledge: upload the image, choose Imprint Cutter among the product types and download a print-ready STL. If you want to compare options first, read our guide to professional cookie stamps, and if you are starting from a photo or an uneven logo, begin with turning a photo into a 3D cutter.
A well-used Imprint Cutter turns a cookie into a branded piece: the same embossing bakeries use for corporate gifts. The first download is free and needs no card, so you can test your own logo with no commitment at design at kingscutter.com, and if you would rather have the printed piece, the physical store ships to several countries.
