Halloween Cookie Cutters: 10 Designs That Sell

Oct 1, 2026 · 10 min read

Which Halloween cookie cutters should you keep to sell?

Short answer: 10 motifs cover Halloween demand: carved pumpkin, ghost, bat, black cat, witch hat, spider web, haunted house, tombstone, cauldron and mummy. Each motif is produced in 3 sizes and all 10 fit in 2 print packs.

Halloween falls on October 31 and baking production concentrates in the 4 weeks before it. A themed set of 10 designs covers school party orders, dessert tables and corporate requests.

How much is sold at Halloween? The 2026 numbers

Consumer spending on Halloween reaches USD 13.5 billion in 2026, above last year's record of USD 13.1 billion, according to the annual survey by the National Retail Federation (September 2026).

Decorations are the second spending category: 78% of consumers plan to buy them and the projected budget for that category is USD 4.3 billion. According to Better Baker Club (2022), 37% of home-based bakers name cookies and brownies as their best-selling products.

For a workshop the math is direct: 1 pack of 8 designs covers a full seasonal catalogue, and that catalogue sells within the 4 weeks of October.

The 10 Halloween designs that sell most

Black cat9 cmCookie
Witch hat10 cmCookie and fondant
Spider web13 cmStencil and large cookie
Haunted house13 cmGift cookie

Which size should each piece have?

The industry scale is 10 cm for a large cutter, 8 cm for a medium one and 5.5 cm for a small one, according to the Just Cutters sizing guide. In the physical catalogue of Stay Humble 3D the available sizes are 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 20 cm.

Motifs with fine inner lines —spider web, mummy and the ghost folds— read better from 10 cm up. Below 8 cm those lines close during baking and the drawing loses definition.

Which technical data do you need to produce the set?

Every value below comes from the kingscutter.com Designer:

DataValue
Cutter blade0.8 mm
Base height3.8 mm
Built-in stamp relief4 mm
Stencil thickness1.5 mm
Disc stamp thickness4.5 mm
Embossing depth3.2 mm
Designs per Multi CutterUp to 8
Pieces per size set1 to 5
Step between set pieces10 mm
Separation on the print plate8 mm
MaterialPETG suitable for food contact

PETG is listed among the copolymers authorised for food contact in title 21 of the CFR, section 177.1315. In Europe those materials are assessed by EFSA. Washing is always by hand, with warm water and mild soap: 3D printing leaves micro-grooves that hold dough residues.

How do you produce the full collection in a few prints?

Short answer: with the Multi Cutter, which groups up to 8 different designs on a single plate. The 10 motifs of the list come out in 2 prints.

The cutter set solves the opposite case: 1 design in up to 5 sizes, with a fixed 10 mm step between pieces (for example 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 cm). It is the format sold as "one large with 2 small".

The 8 mm separation between pieces is not a cosmetic detail: it prevents two cutters from fusing at the base when the printer deposits extra material.

3 Halloween combos that sell as complete sets

  • School set: 9 cm pumpkin + 8 cm ghost + spider web stencil for dusting icing sugar.
  • Dessert table: 13 cm haunted house + 6 cupcake toppers with built-in stamp.
  • Gift box: 10 small motifs with the cookie in an individual bag and a themed label.

How do you build the collection in the Designer?

  1. Open the kingscutter.com Designer and upload the image. It accepts PNG, JPG and SVG.
  2. Pick the product: Cutter for cutting, Cutter Stamp for cut and stamp in the same piece, Stencil for dusting.
  3. Set the size in the panel. Motifs with inner lines need 10 cm or more.
  4. Check the 3D preview and download the STL.
  5. Print and sand the base with fine grit so it rests flat on the dough.

According to our workshop measurement, the combination that holds the blade firm without making the piece rigid is PETG with a 0.2 mm layer, 3 walls and 15% infill. The first download is free and the kingscutter.com library already carries hundreds of designs ready to adapt.

How do you present the collection to sell more?

  • Photograph on a black background with side light: the contrast makes the stamp relief visible.
  • Sell the set by number of motifs instead of single pieces, because the pack fits one single print.
  • Offer the customer name embossed with the Imprint Cutter on corporate orders.
  • Publish the calendar: orders closed before October 25 to deliver on the 31st.

The rest of the business process —costs, packaging and sales channels— is in selling decorated cookies from home.

Preguntas frecuentes

How many cutters does a Halloween set need?

With 10 motifs you cover almost all demand: pumpkin, ghost, bat, black cat, witch hat, spider web, haunted house, tombstone, cauldron and mummy. If each motif is made in 3 sizes, the set ends up with 30 combinable pieces.

Which Halloween cutter size is used most?

The 7 to 10 cm range is the most versatile and covers party cookies. The 13 cm pieces are requested for the large gift cookie. The industry scale is 10 cm for large, 8 cm for medium and 5.5 cm for small.

Can I use movie characters on the cookies?

Not without the rights holder's authorisation. Generic Halloween motifs —pumpkin, ghost, bat, black cat— belong to nobody and sell without a problem. When an order mentions a licensed character, it is safer to swap it for a generic motif from the same theme.

How is the drawing marked onto the cookie?

With the built-in stamp option. The Cutter Stamp cuts and stamps in the same piece with a 4 mm relief, and the plain disc stamp works with 4.5 mm of thickness and 3.2 mm of embossing depth.

What material are they made of and how are they washed?

They are printed in PETG, a copolymer listed for food contact in 21 CFR 177.1315. Washing is by hand with warm water and mild soap, because 3D printing leaves micro-grooves that hold dough residues.

How long does the STL download take?

The download is immediate after generating the design. The real time is taken by printing the pieces, not by the file transfer. The first download is free.
